Le Begonia baik est une espèce rare et spectaculaire de bégonia, découverte en 2013 dans la région de Padawan, au Sarawak (Bornéo, Malaisie) par Che-Wei Lin et Jui-Chin Hung. Son nom rend hommage à Jui-Chin Hung, surnommé « Budak Baik » (« bon garçon » en malais). L’espèce a été officiellement décrite en 2014 dans le Nordic Journal of Botany .
